History
Founded in 1856 by Gustaf Unonius and the Mission at Nashotah (Nashotah House), St Paul's has a proud and venerable history. The current church was built as a memorial church to Lewis Ashurst Kemper, rector for twenty-five years, and son of the first missionary bishop of the Episcopal Church, Jackson Kemper. It is built from the split pink and grey granite stone that farmers found in their fields. St Paul's is graced with fine stained glass windows memorializing many of its members. It is a picture of a rural English parish with its attached churchyard or cemetery. The present church, dating from 1900, was built as a memorial church to Lewish Ashurst Kemper, who was Bishop Jackson Kemper's son. St Paul's Church was founded by the Mission at Nashotah (Nashotah House).
